Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Ghana: Tafo (= New Tafo, Eastern Region, Akim District, Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana), 2.ix.1970, litter sample (B. Bolton). Primary type depository: BMNH.
Secondary type information:
Secondary type material: 8 paratype workers, 2 paratype queens. Secondary type localities: 4 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen with same data as holotype, 4 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen with same data as holotype but 25.xi.1970, log mould sample (B. Bolton). Secondary type depositories: BMNH, MCZC, NHMB.
