Primary type information: Type-material: holotype worker. Type-locality: New Guinea: (no further data), “S.” (A.R. Wallace). Type-depository: OXUM. Type notes: The holotype worker is labelled “S.”, the usual abbreviation for the Salawati Is. Smith gives the type locality as New Guinea (= “N.”) in the text. However, the specimen matches the original description, so a mislabelling or a later switch of labels is suspected.
