Myrmica scabrosa Smith, 1859 an obsolete combination of Tetramorium scabrosum (Smith, 1859)
Myrmica scabrosa Smith, 1859a: 147 (w.) INDONESIA (Aru Is). Australasia.
Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Bolton, 1977: 119). Primary type locality: lectotype Indonesia: Aru Is (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Primary type specimen: CASENT0901373. Type notes: Donisthorpe, 1932c: 455, stated that two Tetramorium scabrosum syntype workers were in OXUM at that time, but now only one is present. A very dirty specimen (now cleaned and remounted), identical to the OXUM syntype but without data cards, was found in BMNH. It is suspected that this specimen was originally the second OXUM syntype.
