Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: France: 44.1002°N, 7.2332°E, St-Martin-Vésubie-3.8NNW, 1629 m., 15.v.2002 (R. Schultz). Primary type depository: SMNG. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 8 paratype workers. Secondary type locality: same as for holotype. Secondary type depository: SMNG. Type notes: The authors also report 120 paratype workers preserved in ethanol.

Status as species: Borowiec, 2014: 132; Lebas et al., 2016: 320.
