Acanthostichus ramosmexiae Bruch, 1924b: 260, fig. (w.) ARGENTINA (Santa Fe). Neotropic.
Primary type information: Primary type material: ca 80 syntype workers. Primary type locality: Argentina: Santa Fe, Fives Lille, “La Criolla”, end of x.1923, under dry cow manure (C. Bruch & V. Weiser). Primary type depositories: MLPA, NHMB. Type notes: 1) Baroni Urbani, 1973b: 126, cites 6 worker syntypes in NHMB. 2) Type-locality not Argentina: Santa Fe, Saladillo stream, nr Rosario (J. Hubrich); this is the series from which the male and larvae were subsequently described by Bruch, 1925b: 112. 3) Rosario was wrongly regarded as the type-series by MacKay, 1996: 146 (Rosario series is deposited in MACN).
