Acanthognathus lentus Mann, 1922: 34, fig. 16 (w.q.) HONDURAS. Neotropic.
Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers (number not stated, “several”), 1 syntype queen. Primary type locality: Honduras: Progresso, ii-iii.1920 (W.M. Mann). Primary type depositories: MCZC, USNM. Primary type specimens: Cat. 24455. Type notes: Brown & Kempf, 1969, in their Acanthognathus revision, indicate that they examined only a few workers of the type series from MCZC and USNM. However, they cite syntypes at MCZC, USNM and WWK. The WWK collection is at MZSP, and the MZSP Ant Collection has no types of Acanthognathus lentus. They probably agreed to send Acanthognathus lentus syntypes to WWK, but such donation may never have been finalized. (Mônica Antunes Ulysséa)
