Aphomomyrmex muralti Forel, 1910f: 449 (w.) SOUTH AFRICA. Afrotropic.

Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype (?) worker. Primary type locality: South Africa: Natal (L. von Muralt). Primary type depository: MHNG. Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) Snelling, 1979b: 4, suspected that “Natal” was a mislabelling, and that the correct type locality of Aphomomyrmex muralti was Cameroon. Because of this South Africa is not included in the distribution data for Aphomomyrmex afer.
