Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Longino & Cover, 2004: 8). Primary type locality: lectotype Costa Rica: Alajuela, Jiménez, 1889 (A. Alfaro). Primary type depository: MSNG. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: paralectotype workers (number not stated). Secondary type locality: same as for lectotype. Secondary type depository: MSNG. Type notes: 1) Kempf, 1972b: 23, cited Alajuela as type locality. 2) The locality was originally printed as Alajuela, Jiménez, but Longino & Cover, 2004: 8, point out that the actual locality is Jiménez, with Alajuela an assumed mislabel.
