Primary type information: Primary type material: 2 syntype workers. Primary type locality: Indonesia: Sulawesi (“Celebes”) (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: BMNH. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 467, states no specimens in OXUM, 2 workers in BMNH (confirmed by Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978). 2) The labels on the two BMNH specimens are slightly different, but there is no way of proving if one is not an original syntype. Worker 1 is labelled: “Celebes”; written under the stage-card is “Celebes. Taken by Wallace n. sp.” Worker 2 is labelled: “Celebes, Manado. 60/76.” BMNH accessions register gives: “1860 no. 76 (Sept. 13) Celebes (Manado). Purchased of Stevens. Collected by A.
