Primary type depository: MNHN. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype queen. Secondary type locality: same as for lectotype. Secondary type depository: MNHN. Type notes: 1) Bernard, 1967a: 300, indicated that Bernard, 1959 (correctly 1960) [Bernard, 1960a], contained the original description of Formica torrentium, but this name is not mentioned in either of those publications. 2) The original description (Bernard, 1967a) cites worker, queen and male syntypes (numbers not stated). 3) Other original syntype localities: Haute-Pyrénées, Luz, Cauterets and Fabian (F. Bernard).
