From Guarani mbo’ehára (pronounced [ᵐbo.ʔeˈha.ɾa]), singular noun, literally meaning “the agent of teaching” or “teacher”. Named in honor of those who teach, whether formally or not, human or more-than-human. Following ICZN’s (2005) Article 11.9.1.2, the name of this species should be treated as a noun in the nominative singular standing in apposition to the generic name. |
