Primary type specimen: CASENT0908696.
Type notes 1) This taxon is based on specimens of Monomorium carbonarium Smith, 1858a, sensu Forel, 1881: 8, misidentification. 2) A lectotype queen designated by DuBois, 1986: 106, is redundant as no queen is mentioned in the original type series, and the lectotype’s locality, St Vincent, does not occur in either of Forel’s publications (Forel, 1881, Forel, 1891c). 3) Seifert, 2025: 75, cites the redundantly designated lectotype queen (CASENT0908695) as type material
