Primary type material: holotype queen. Primary type locality: Brazil: Bahia, Ilhéus, Praia do Norte, 18 km. N Ilhéus, 14.6197°S, 39.0607°W, at sea level, 27.xi.1994 (J.H.C. Delabie). Primary type depository: CPDC.

Secondary type localities: a long list of collections (all in Bahia State), the principal components of which are: 7 paratype queens, 6 paratype males Ilhéus, Praia do Sul, STAC camping, 13 km. S Ilhéus, 5.xi.1992 (J.H.C. Delabie), 3 paratype queens, 6 paratype males Ilhéus, Praia do Norte, Barramares village, 18 km. N Ilhéus, 12 and 16.x.1994 (C.R.R. Delabie), 17 paratype queens, 4 paratype males as last but 29.x.1994 (J.H.C. & C.R.R. Delabie), 84 paratype queens, 9 paratype males as last but 13.xi.1994 (C.R.R.
