Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Cuba: Hoboken, 23.v.1951, on orchid Encyclia (no collector’s name). Primary type depository: USNM. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paratype worker. Secondary type locality: same data as holotype but on indeterminate orchids or bromeliads. Secondary type depository: USNM. Type notes: Probably the ants were from Cuba, intercepted in quarantine at Hoboken, New Jersey, U.S.A.; no trace of a Hoboken in Cuba can be found.
