Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Mauritius: Corps de Garde Mt, 17.i.1944, no. 20 (R. Mamet). Primary type depository: BMNH. Primary type specimen: CASENT0102255. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 54 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen (plus larvae and pupae). Secondary type locality: same as for holotype. Secondary type depository: BMNH. Type notes: The original description of Strumigenys raymondi mentioned five short series which were a mixture of Strumigenys ludovici and Strumigenys simoni. However, Donisthorpe’s designated “type” specimen (= holotype) had its origin in series no. 20, now regarded as the type-series, with Mamet’s other series (nos. 8,12,19,28) excluded.
