Primary type information: Type-material: syntype workers (number not stated). Type-locality: Australia: Victoria, Warburton (F.E. Wilson). Type-depositories: MCZC, MVMA. Type notes: Brown, 1958g: 340, records that in conversation, F.E. Wilson told him that the real type-locality of Discothyrea bidens was Cement Creek, “some miles up into the Warburton Range, away from the town of Warburton”.
