Primary type localities: “numerous workers” Brazil: Pará, Ilha Mexiana (Hagmann) (invalid restriction of type locality by Kempf, 1972b: 13; no lectotype designated), 3 workers Brazil: Pará (no collector’s name). Primary type depositories: MHNG, NHMB. Type notes: Santschi, 1925a: 385, writes “Isla mexicana” as a syntype locality. This would appear to be a misinterpretation of Ilha Mexiana, in Pará.
